Opening Day Of Hunting!

Opening day of hunting is a day filled with excitement, adrenaline rushes, and hopefully blasting a deer till it falls down and dies. It basically is a national holiday for "hicks." To me it is one of my favorite weekends to experience.
I begin my day, every morning, getting up at five in the morning. I eat a little bit of breakfast before getting dressed. I then prepare myself for a cold morning out in the woods by putting on layers of clothing. I also, bust open hand warmers and toe warmers but not till I'm ready to hed out and sit in my tree stand. After eating and getting dressed, me and some of my hunting buddies (7 of us) talk about where we are going to sit, what time were coming in from hunting, and what to do if one of us gets a deer. Then all seven of us split up and try to cover my woods, and well, once everybody is out and in there tree stand, let the hunting begin.
Hunting to me has been a part of my life. Growing up in Eden and Campbellsport, hunting is a way of life. Being a "hick" is being part of the norm around here. Hunting is a time where everyone talks to one another about their experiences, enjoys being around friends and family, and being able to make that trip down to the Eden Meat Market with deer in the back of your truck. To me, this is a great "holiday" that I look forward to every year, even though I still haven't killed a deer.

I know how you feel not shooting a deer yet, neither have I. Me and my family go hunting together every year and my uncle gives you so much shit for not getting anything. But it's still fun, I'v shot at a lot of deers, and done a lot of drives, I think they are my favorite, cuz it's your best chance and the whole time you are just looking around waiting for a deer to try and sneak out. Plus thats how me and my uncle got our nicknames, I' short, so I'm the oarnge smurf, and my uncle is... well a bigger man so he is the great pumpkin. LOL Even if you don't get anything, the adreneline rush, and the good times makes it worth while.
