The Cubs Final Month!?!?

The Chicago Cubs are one of those teams that always has a reputation of "choking" in September. Well, except for this season, of course. This September, the Cubs have been playing outstanding baseball and are doing nothing but proving to themselves and to their fans that they are determined to win games and, hopefully, make it to the playoffs.

In the month of September, the Cubs have already recorded fifteen wins. As impressive as that is, I believe that the North Siders are winning games due to their indescribable amount of power in their lineup. During this successful month, the Cubs have received more than enough production from their three big men on the team, Alfonso Soriano, Derrek Lee, and Aramis Ramirez. In the past week, the trio has been combining to hit about four-hundred, and have a total of nine homeruns and twenty-two runs batted in. With these three sluggers hitting those kind of numbers, all the Cubs have to worry about is their pitching.

The Chicago Cubs' pitching has been nothing but amazing this month. For the Cubs starting pitching, they have four starters on the team with ten wins or more that can take them deep into games. Also, as of this month, thebullpen has been lights out, saving six out of eight opportunities, and recording four wins.

With this month being as promising as it is, you have to wonder, is this year the year ?! Can they continue to win, hold off the Brewers, and make it into the playoffs? Well, we'll see come October. Go Cubs!

The Packers Have Potential!

Football fans know it's early to be talking about the playoffs, however the Green and Gold are already showing great signs of being a playoff caliber team. The Pack Attack is still undefeated after its only two games into the season because they are showing outstanding production from both the defensive and offensive sides of the ball.
Green Bay's defensive play the past two games has been nothing but impressive. They have not allowed a team all season to get 17 points scored on them. They also have recorded three sacks, two interceptions, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries, which goes to show that our linemen and linebackers are doing nothing but the best. Another intriguing fact is that the Packers have held the opposing teams' rushing to under one hundred yards.
With the Packers defense taking the spotlight the first two games, you can't forget about Number Four and his offense. Green Bay started out slow in the first game against the Eagles, even though victorious, but turned it up when playing a decent team like the Giants. Favre threw three touchdowns and had passed for two hundred eighty-five yards. Also, Favre got a little help from his rookie running backs who rushed for two touchdowns. Green Bay's offensive numbers may be lower than last year's, but they are winning games and that's all that matters.
With the impressive wins, plus what is sure to be a Brett Favre record-setting season, Packer fans have much to be excited about.
