My Major!

Everyone probably has had this dream where one day they'll wake up and be successful and rich, with a great career. Well, I don't know about you, but I've had this dream and one thing that makes me wonder is , am I worrying about what will make me really happy, or am I just worried about money and the stuff it can buy?

To me, a decent income is important, but my career choice will not be about the money, even though the pursuit of wealth has been a big part of the media I've been exposed to growing up.
Every MTV show seems to be about fancy "cribs", "pimped" rides and super sweet 16 birthday parties. It's hard for my generation to step away from the "bling".

No, I 'm not buying into that dream. I feel that being a grade school teacher would be a perfect fit for me because I love being around little kids, and making them laugh. I hope to have the opportunity of teaching kids in a fun way, so that they're going to want to learn. Plus, I'll be the cool teacher that all the kids and parents are going to want to have.

Being a grade school teacher would almost be following in my parents footsteps. They, too, have been teachers, but for high school. I don't know if I could handle all the comments and complaining of high school teenagers. However, looking at my parents, and their profession of teaching, makes me feel that I'm choosing something that will be meaningful and provide a comfortable lifestyle. Heck, if my parents can do it, so can I.

I agree with each day hoping to wake up and be somebody. I also think that the major you choose was great. You are a goof and could make kids laugh. Heck I want you as my kids teacher someday. We all must search deep within to see what profession is really going to make us happy for the rest of our lives...
